Sebenarnya tidaklah perlu kita menyelam sampai ke lebih dari 20-25 meter karena di perairan yang lebih dangkal terdapat banyak goa kecil dengan ikan dan terumbu karang yang berlimpah.

Teluk Gamat adalah satu-satunya tempat menyelam di Pulau Nusa Penida, para penyelam tidak perlu melakukan drift diving, karena arus disini tidak begitu besar. Jadi untuk para fotografer bisa menghabiskan waktunya lebih banyak untuk subject mereka; daerah yang dangkal terisi dengan terumbu karang yang baru tumbuh dan ciri khas di daerah yang dalam merupakan terumbu karang hitam dengan gorgonians yang mengesankan. Sama seperti halnya dengan tempat menyelam yang lain di pulau Nusa Penida, Arus disini juga bisa tak terduga.
