Nusa Penida Diseases Society Banish the Dance



- Society of Nusa Penida, Klungkung regency, Bali, held dance Sang Hyang as ritual to ward off various diseases.
The dance was held 23 times since Wednesday (25/7) in the village of Indigenous Lembongan, Nusa Penida District. "People here believe that dance

can ward off disease," said I Made Sumiarta as community leaders Lembongan Village People.
On the first day, Wednesday (25/7), staged the dance twice Sang Hyang consisting of Sang Hyang Dance Dance Sang Hyang tube and copyists.
Then the second day until the fourth day staged a series of dance Sang Hyang from various streams. "Those dances to keep the balance of nature because during our villages prone to pests," he said.
As the peak of the ritual dances performed all citizens Lembongan Village People, Saturday (28/7) at around 24.00 pm.
The tradition of the Village People Lembongan was once the main attraction for foreign tourists holidaying in Nusa Penida.
According to tradition Sumiarta stopped for 30 years. "Now people with consciousness itself back to preserve the cultural heritage of our ancestors," he said.
